This morning, I listened to a portion of the 2026 Forecast episode on The Astrology Podcast, where Chris and Austin spent a lot of time talking about the upcoming transits in Leo. Jupiter moves into Leo in late June (for a year), followed by the South Node and related eclipses. Mars will be there too for several months in 2026-27. There will be a lot of Leo action in our lives.
Leo is the home sign for the Sun, a central energetic force. No Sun, no life.
So maybe it won’t surprise you that in medical astrology, the sign of Leo rules the heart—the central energetic pump of our bodies. No heart, no life.
It’s also linked with the spine, upper back and the blood. Judith Hill wrote an insightful article about how Leo and Cancer work together in the body, so that Cancer (ribs and breast) protect and defend Leo (the heart). It’s a beautiful concept.

Leo is one of the three fire signs, including Sagittarius and Aries. Fire locations are anywhere near heat or fire, the eastern direction, places of iron, and walls. William Lilly associates Leo with outdoor areas like woods and parks.

Other Leo places include “magificent buildings and palaces.” This is likely due to the long association of the Sun with Kings and rulers, so Leo would be a place where rulers live or work.

Indoors, look for Leo locations anywhere there is fire or heat, such as fireplaces, chimneys, stoves, hot water heaters, furnaces and the clothes dryer.

Stand in front of some magnificent architecture in the woods with sunlight filtering through the trees. Take a deep breath.
Leo.
Happy New Year!
Denise
