I sat at my parents’ dining table to write notes on Pisces, glanced at my phone and laughed. Neptune is rising at the last degree of Pisces. What synchronicity! Although I use Jupiter, the traditional planetary ruler, Neptune has affinity with Pisces and has been there for years. That transit journey ends in early 2026.
All three Water signs (Pisces, Cancer & Scorpio) are associated with water and watery places. Pisces is specifically linked to rivers, fishponds and damp areas in Lilly’s book, Christian Astrology.

I haven’t seen a specific zodiacal association for a hippopotamus but they strike me as a very Neptune-in-Pisces animal. Often romanticized and terribly dangerous, hippos kill about 500 people a year in South Africa. They don’t eat meat, they’re just mean. Yet, many people I know were enamored with Fiona, a live cam hippo star at the Cincinnati Zoo. And of course, there’s the “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” song.

When it comes to indoor locations, Pisces spots are the kitchen, bath and laundry areas. Again, think damp areas!
On the human body, Pisces is associated with feet. Perhaps it’s a nod to evolution when feet were once flippers?
When I took belly dancing, I noticed that my movements were more fluid and easeful when the Moon passed through Pisces each month.

The fluids of the body as directed by the lymphatic and immune systems are Piscean, too. Also the Pineal Gland, which produces melatonin and is linked to the sleep cycle.
Pisces and Virgo are opposites on the zodiacal wheel and both are strongly linked to health overall.
Wishing you good health and sweet dreams,
Denise
